Tar Heels Pick Up Day Two Wins; Advance To Sunday Finals


CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Multiple Tar Heels picked up two victories in the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Saturday at the Chewning Tennis Center.

In the “Navy” singles pool, Reese Brantmeier advanced to the Navy Finals after she won 6-3, 0-6, 6-3. 

In the “White” singles pool, Carson Tanguilig picked up a 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 victory to solidify a spot in the finals while teammate Thea Rabman fell 4-6, 2-6 in her third round match.

Two Tar Heel doubles pairs advanced to the finals after the duo of Reese Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty won 8-3 in the “Tar” doubles pool and Carson Tanguilig and Anika Yarlagadda won 8-6 in the “Heel” doubles pool.

Sunday is the last day of competition and begins at 9 a.m. at the Chewning Tennis Center. Admission is free for all spectators.
