Sun Devils To Conclude Fall Season with Annual Thunderbird Invitational


TEMPE, Ariz. – The Sun Devils are set to host six visiting teams for their annual three-day Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center from November 4-6.

Ohio State, USC, Auburn, San Diego, Michigan and Cal will join the Sun Devils for the team’s final tune-up of the fall season.

Play will begin Friday morning with singles at 9 a.m. The afternoon will consist of a tentative 12:00 p.m. start for doubles with additional singles matches to follow. This schedule will be consistent through the rest of the weekend.

No live stream will be available throughout the three days of action, but fans can follow along with live results or through the tournament homepage.

Four Sun Devils will be competing in the three-day tournament, including Giulia Morlet, Sedona Gallagher, Marianna Argyrokastriti and Rachel Hanford. 

Morlet, Gallagher and Argyrokastriti were key contributors to last season’s 18-win team, while Hanford is set to make her Whiteman Tennis Center debut after transferring from the University of Minnesota over the summer.

Domenika Turkovic and Patricija Spaka, the team’s top-ranked doubles pair, will instead be competing in San Diego at the ITA National Fall Championships. The duo was one of 32 doubles teams selected to compete in the tournament.

Along with a quarter of Sun Devils on display, fans will also have a chance to see some of the country’s top talent.
