Success Continues For UNC At Furman Fall Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The North Carolina women’s tennis team saw six of its singles players advance to the finals of their respective flights and Fiona Crawley and Abbey Forbes won the flight 2 doubles title on Saturday at the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic.

The flight 1 final will pit No. 12 Elizabeth Scotty against No. 2 Sara Hamner of South Carolina on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

No. 15 Abbey Forbes, No. 21 Fiona Crawley, No. 28 Carson Tanguilig, No. 31 Reilly Tran and Sophia Patel all will play for flight titles as well on Sunday morning. 

UNC won six of its seven singles matches, while two doubles teams reached the finals in their respective flights.

Crawley and Forbes won the flight 2 doubles crown on Saturday morning after recording an 8-0 victory over Mills and Cruz of South Carolina. 

Sophia Patel and Lindsay Zink also picked up a convincing win over the Gamecocks in flight 4 doubles.
