EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State women’s tennis team closes out the regular season on its home courts this weekend. The Spartans face off against Nebraska on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. inside the MSU Indoor Tennis Center, then honor their three seniors on Senior Day against No. 65-ranked Iowa on Sunday, April 21, first serve is set for 11 a.m. at the MSU Outdoor Tennis Center.

The Green and White dropped two bouts in its last outing on the road, losing a close match to Minnesota, 4-2, and fell to No. 25-ranked Wisconsin. The Spartans started fast against the Gophers taking the doubles point on courts one and three with identical scores, 6-1.
MEET THE SENIORS
Michigan State will be honoring three student-athletes during Senior Day festivities on Sunday afternoon: Ayshe Can, Nicole Conard and Marlo Schiffman will be recognized for their accomplishments and commitments to the program over their collegiate careers.
“Ayshe, Nicole and Marlo have each contributed to this program’s success in their own unique ways. They have created a supportive and encouraging environment for their teammates,” said head coach Kim Bruno. “This group will be remembered as outstanding student-athletes and exceptional individuals who have left a lasting legacy.”
Can, a native of Weston, Florida, enters the weekend with 15 total wins this season with 11 doubles victories and four singles victories. in 2021 Can had a career-high 24 total victories with 13 singles wins and 11 doubles victories. A four-year contributor, Can is a two-time Big Ten all-academic honoree and a 2023 ITA scholar-athlete.
Conard, a transfer from Dartmouth, has only been on the team for two seasons as a graduate student. During her time as a Spartan, Conard has 40 total victories. This season she tallied 14 doubles victories and is one half of the Spartans no. 35-ranked doubles tandem with fellow senior Can.
Schiffman is a four-year contributor and has accumulated seven career victories. This season, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native made two dual match appearances in the 4-0 victories over Oakland and Ball State. Schiffman is a three-time Big Ten all-academic and two-time ITA scholar athlete honoree.
