Six Blue Devils Listed in Preseason ITA Singles Rankings


DURHAM, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the preseason singles and doubles rankings Tuesday with six Duke women’s tennis standouts listed in the singles ledger, while two doubles teams were ranked. 
 
In the singles rankings, sophomore Shavit Kimchi (38), senior Emma Jackson (41), junior Katie Codd (49), senior Ellie Coleman (53) and sophomore Eleana Yu (73) were listed.  Freshman Irina Balus was also listed No. 10 in the newcomer singles ledger. 
 
Duke also featured two doubles teams ranked – Jackson/Yu (58) and Kimchi/Coleman (61). 
 
Yu, a transfer from Stanford, is coming off an impressive summer where she claimed the singles titles at the ITA National Summer Championships in Memphis, Tennessee and the ITA Summer Masters Series in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Yu also teamed with Jackson at the ITA National Summer Championships to win the doubles title. 
 
Duke features four current Blue Devils in the final ITA rankings of the 2023-24 season – Kimchi (#72), Jackson (#81), Codd (#96) and Coleman (#102).
