Six Blue Devils Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards


DURHAM, N.C. – For the second year in a row, six Duke women’s tennis student-athletes were honored with Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete Awards on Monday with the selection of Iuliia Bryzgalova, Katie Codd, Ellie Coleman, Emma Jackson, Shavit Kimchi and Brianna Shvets
 
As a team, Duke also received Division I Women’s All-Academic Team honors. 
 
Shvets earned accolades for the fourth straight year, while Coleman received honors for the third consecutive season and Codd for the second year in a row.  Bryzgalova, Jackson and Kimchi were named for the first time. 
 
Duke compiled an impressive 3.691 grade-point average during the 2023-24 campaign. 
 
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letterwinners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
 
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: be listed on the institutional eligibility form and have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
