Seven Blue Devils Selected ITA Scholar-Athletes

DURHAM – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced that seven Blue Devils were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Edu Güell, Arturo Kam, Faris Khan, Connor Krug, Jake Krug, Niroop Vallabhaneni and Andrew Zhang were all selected to the exclusive list. Guell and Zhang were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the third consecutive season, while Khan and Vallabhaneni are back on the list for the second time. It also continues a strong run of academic success, with Zhang, Güell, Khan, Vallabhaneni and Krug being named to the 2022 All-ACC Academic Team earlier this summer.

Duke as a team was also acknowledged by the organization after being named to the 2022 ITA All-Academic Team.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letterwinners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.

To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
