The 23-time Grand Slam champion shared this image of herself on the practice court looking fit and focused.
Serena captioned the shot “Just trying to stay fit here.”
The shot sparked speculation Serena could be training for a grass-court or hard-court return.
Remember, the former world No. 1 did not rule out a comeback in a series of interviews she did last year.
However, in an extensive interview in February, Serena told good friend and CBS This Morning host Gayle King “I would say no” when asked if the door was slightly open for a potential comeback.
While there’s speculation Serena could partner Venus in a Grand Slam doubles farewell or she’s training for exhibitions or a possible pickleball foray it maybe she simply misses hitting the ball and wanted to hit.
Serena Williams won 73 titles earned more than $94 million in her illustrious career and the story goes on.
Page Six reports Williams’ agent is shopping a new memoir with publishing rights possibly exceeding $10 million.
Serena Williams is “selling a memoir via [power literary agent] Suzanne Gluck at WME,” Page Six reports, adding speculation that there are “eight-figure deals on the table.”
Tennis fans will remember Serena previously published her memoir: My Life: Queen of the Court back in 2009.
That memoir, as well as father Richard Williams autobiography Black and White: The Way I See It, were foundations for the popular King Richard movie which earned Will Smith the Academy Award.
The success of the King Richard film combined with the fact so much has happened in Serena’s life since her first book—she married reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, gave birth to daughter Olympic while withstanding a serious health scare, made a comeback and has become a successful entrepreneur and investor—along with the allure of one more possible comeback are generating interest in the project.
When pressed on a possible comeback by Gayle King in February, Williams strongly suggested her playing days are done.
“I’ve literally given my whole life to tennis and it’s time for me to give my life to something else,” Serena says in the video below. “Winning to me is just to pick out the best deals to invest in, you know.
