Kate Duong and playing partner Megan Heuser won the first professional title of their careers on Friday, Nov. 11, claiming the doubles title at the Fighting Illini Women’s Open USTA/ITF 15k.

The championship marks the second of the fall for the Illinois women’s tennis doubles duo. Individually, Duong advanced to the semifinals of the singles main draw, the longest-standing Illini in the bracket.

Duong, from Cuppertino, Calif., is junior pursuing her degree in accountancy.
