Samuel Wraps Singles Career in NCAA Tournament – University of South Carolina Athletics

Stillwater, Okla. – South Carolina men’s tennis senior Toby Samuel wrapped up his collegiate singles career in the NCAA Singles Tournament Round of 64 on Monday.

Samuel fell to No. 75 Pablo Masjuan of UC Santa Barbara in three sets after taking the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6(1).

The Bournemouth, England, native wrapped in singles portion of his career with 98 career wins across his four-years as a Gamecock.

For having been in the tournament as a top-8 seed, Samuel will be named an ITA Singles All-American for the second season in a row.

He will have another opportunity to represent the Garnet & Black tomorrow with the start of the NCAA Doubles Tournament. Samuel will partner with junior Casey Hoole and the duo will take on No. 1 seed Garret Johns and Pedro Rodenas of Duke. Match time is TBA.
