Elena Rybakina has stepped out of Eastbourne to ensure her health for Wimbledon.
The reigning Wimbledon champion withdrew from Eastbourne today citing the virus that forced her to pull out of Roland Garros last month.

“My team and I decided it would be better to recover this week and prepare for Wimbledon,” Rybakina said. “I am still recovering from the virus I had in Paris and after Roland Garros it was really tough.
“I also picked up another small issue in Berlin.”
Last week, Rybakina lost to Donna Vekic in the round of 16.
A year ago, Rybakina defeated Ons Jabeur to win her maiden major at Wimbledon.
The Championships start on July 3rd.
