Rodenas Named ITA Regional Singles Co-Champion

CARY, N.C. – Duke men’s tennis’ run at the 2024 ITA Carolina Regional came to an end Monday at Cary Tennis Park. 
 
In the semifinals of the doubles draw, top-seeded Maxwell Smith/Noa Vukadin of Clemson tallied a 6-3, 6-4 win over third-seeded Pedro Rodenas/Gerard Planelles Ripoll. Teammates and 11th-seeded Sam Landau/Theo Winegar fell to fifth-seeded Luca Pow/Luciano Tacchi of Wake Forest 7-5, 3-6, 8-10. 
 
The singles main draw final that was set for this morning was not played. Second-seeded Rodenas and NC State’s 12th-seeded Martin Borisiouk were named co-champions and qualified for the NCAA Singles Tournament next month. 
 
Duke returns to action next Nov. 1-3 at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
