Rincon Selected to Coach USTA Collegiate Summer Team

ORLANDO, Fla., – University of Louisville men’s tennis assistant coach Mario Rincon has been selected to coach the USTA Collegiate Summer Team.

The program is designed to help America’s premier college players assimilate to professional tennis in a team-oriented environment via USTA Player and Coach Development. In his role, Rincon is one of two coaches on the men’s team who will provide assistance to any American collegians playing at tournaments throughout the summer.

“It’s a great honor to represent the University of Louisville as one of the coaches of the of the USTA National Collegiate Summer Team,” said Rincon. “Working with the top level of our sport is very rewarding for me as a coach, and it furthers my insight into the current state of pro level tennis. Hopefully will be able to translate that for our team in this upcoming year to push us to newer heights.”

Rincon recently completed his third season as an assistant coach at UofL. In 2022, the Cardinals achieved impressive results on the court in the 2021-22 campaign, finishing the season with an 19-9 overall record and an at-large berth in the NCAA tournament. Louisville reached the semifinals of the ACC Championship for the first time in program history after earning the No. 4 seed with a program-best nine wins in conference play.  As a team, the Cardinals appeared in the ITA team rankings 11 times, with a season-high ranking of 23.
