ATLANTA –– UA’s Matias Ponce De Leon and Roan Jones recorded singles wins to highlight the Alabama men’s tennis team on the opening day of the Georgia Tech Invite.
Ponce De Leon posted a strong, two-set victory over Liberty’s Rafael Marques Da Silva, going 6-2, 6-3 against the senior.
Jones added the Tide’s second win of the day, defeating Georgia State’s Baran Solyer. After splitting the opening two sets 6-3, 5-7, the UA sophomore posted a 6-4 victory in the third set to win the match.
