COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Penn State women’s tennis team continued play at the Buckeye Invitational. The Nittany Lions will conclude their run in the tournament on Sunday, Oct. 16.
Singles
Alina Lebedeva defeated Abby Siminski of Xavier 6-4, 6-3.
Olivia Dorner prevailed over Kat Lyman of Xavier 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Yvonne Zuffova declared victory against Imani Graham of Xavier in a close match that ended with a 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (11) score.
Danielle Alamo fell to Makayla Mills of Kentucky 6-2, 7-5.
Karly Friedland was unsuccessful against Blessing Nwaozuzo 6-1, 7-5.
Doubles
The Blue and White split in doubles matches on the day against pairs from Xavier.
Yvonne Zuffova and Alina Lebedeva bested Blessing Nwaozuzo and Abby Siminski 6-3.
Karly Friedland and Olivia Dorner lost their match to Imani Graham and Kat Lyman 7-6 (6).
