Oregon Heads to Stillwater for ITA Kickoff Weekend

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women’s tennis team heads to Stillwater, Okla., for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend, where the Ducks will meet host No. 14 Oklahoma State Saturday at 11 a.m. PT at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
 
The Ducks are part of a loaded four-team field that also features Kansas, who is receiving votes in the latest ITA poll, and Michigan, ranked 16th. The ITA Kickoff Weekend is a marquee event of the spring season, bringing together the nation’s top 60 women’s college tennis teams at 15 host sites.
 
The champions of each site will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle, Wash., Feb. 9-13.

Oregon last faced Oklahoma State in 2014 and is 0-2 against the Cowgirls all-time. UO is 0-2 against Kansas, last meeting in 2019, while going 0-3 against Michigan, including a meeting in the first round of last year’s NCAA Tournament.
 
During last season’s NCAA Tournament campaign, the Ducks picked up a pair of ranked wins: against No. 25 Arizona State (4-3) and No. 20 Washington (4-0).
 
The Ducks opened their 2023 dual schedule at home last weekend, sweeping Portland State (4-0) Friday before taking down Seattle U (6-1) Sunday at the Student Tennis Center. Uxia Martinez Moral and Ares Teixido Garcia each went 2-0 in singles action over the weekend, while Martinez Moral was also a part of two doubles victories.
