EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women’s tennis team continues its homestand with a pair of matches this weekend at the Student Tennis Center, first against Iowa on Friday (1 p.m. PT) and then Sunday against Saint Mary’s (11 a.m. PT).

The Ducks snapped their two-game skid last Saturday, defeating Portland 6-1 to begin five straight home matches. The win improved UO’s record against UP to 36-1, getting five singles wins in straight sets to go with sweeping the doubles point.
 
Against the Pilots, Oregon’s top doubles team of Sophie Luescher and Uxia Martinez Moral imporved to 2-2 this spring with a 6-3 victory. Ares Teixido Garcia and Jo-Yee Chan moved to 3-0 when a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
 
Luescher is 2-0 in singles play this spring, playing every matches at the No. 1 singles position for the Ducks. Martinez Moral and Teixido Garcia each own a team-best three singles wins.
 
Iowa comes to Eugene on a three-match winning streak, having beaten Furman, Denver and K-State. UO is 2-3 against the Hawkeyes all-time, last meeting in 2016.
 
Saint Mary’s claimed its only match during the spring season, a 5-2 win over Nevada. The Ducks are 5-2 all-time against the Gaels, including a 4-1 home win a season ago.
