World No. 28 Reilly Opelka has withdrawn from the Flushing Meadows major, which starts on Monday, August 29th.
More: Zverev Withdraws from US Open
No reason was given for Opelka’s withdrawal in the US Open announcement. However, the man who swept Texas titles in Dallas and Houston this year, has been limited to just two matches since Wimbledon.
The 24-year-old Opelka posted his best US Open result last year reaching the fourth round for the first time.
Jack Sock, who partnered Mike Bryan to the 2018 US Open doubles championship, replaces Opelka in the main draw.
Opelka is the third-highest ranked American man behind world No. 12 Taylor Fritz and 24th-ranked Frances Tiafoe.
