COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri tennis lost a nonconference match at Kansas Friday, falling 4-0 at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
Kansas (6-1) held the upper hand in the first tennis version of the Border Showdown since 2012, taking the doubles point and then securing the first three singles points. Three singles and one doubles matchup were left unfinished.
Mizzou (9-3) got first-set singles wins from Inah Canete and Andrea Artimedi. Gabriela Martinez won the second set after dropping the first frame 6-2. All three matches were left unfinished in the third set.
UP NEXT
The Tigers open up Southeastern Conference play on the road next weekend, heading to Knoxville, Tennessee and Athens, Georgia. Mizzou faces Tennessee at 3 p.m. CT on Friday and Georgia at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
