No. 41 Women’s Tennis Drops Match to No. 29 UCF


ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 41 Penn State women’s tennis team (8-7) fell in an away match against UCF (6-5), 5-2. 
The UCF women’s tennis team acted first and took the doubles point. At No. 2, Olivia Dorner and Karly Friedland fell to No. 61 Sophia Biolay and Marie Mattel, 6-0. Sofiya Chekhlystova and Carla Girbau los ttheir match at the No. 3 position to Noel Saidenova and Jantje Tilbuerger, 6-3. 
Ioana Gheorghita and Alexandra Nielsen were tied 5-5 against Nandini Sharma and Stefani Webb before their match was left unfinished.



The Nittany Lions collected two singles wins in the match. Ioana Gheorghita defeated Noel Saidenova, 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 10-5. Carla Girbau executed a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 win over Jantje Tilbuerger. 


Alexandra Nielsen lost her match to Nandini Sharma, 6-0, 6-3. Olivia Dorner fell in her match against Sophia Biolay, 6-3, 6-4. 


No. 43 Sofiya Chekhlystova faced a 6-2, 7-5 loss against No. 30 Marie Mattel. At No. 2, Yvonne Zuffova fell in a hard-fought match versus Stefani Webb, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
