CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 29 Wisconsin women’s tennis team concluded its 2024 competition in the second round of the NCAA Tournament today, May 4. The Badgers dropped to No. 4-seeded North Carolina, 4-0.

With No. 1 Maria Sholokhova and Alina Mukhortova dropping, it was up to their teammates. Rosie Garcia Gross and Taylor Cataldi made a huge comeback at No. 3 after a 3-0 deficit early in the set to notch the team’s sole doubles win at 6-4. Xinyu Cai and Ellison Reynoldson tried to capitalize on the point, but their Tarheel foes were too much.

Singles proved to be a difficult challenge for the Badgers, dropping five out of six first sets. UW tried to force third sets, but UNC proved to be the better team.
