No. 26 FSU Falls in Battle To No. 3 Georgia

Athens, Ga.– The No. 26 Florida State women’s tennis team (17-11) fell to No. 3 Georgia (24-4) 4-0 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Dan Magill Tennis Center on Saturday.

The Seminoles battled hard all day and were competitive in singles. Vic Allen won her second set 6-1 and was ahead 2-1 against 3rd-ranked Lea Ma of Georgia. Anna Arkadianou won her first set 7-5 against No. 4 Dasha Vidmanova. Both matches went unfinished.

After taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, the Bulldogs won at No. 5, No. 4, and No. 3 singles to clinch the victory.

Florida State’s season has come to an end in a year with lots of memorable moments. The Seminoles finished the year with three top-25 wins, advanced to their 26th ACC quarterfinal, and made the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive postseason appearance. Several athletes are expected to return to help Florida State be a contender once again next season.
