TALLAHASSEE – The No. 24 Florida State women’s tennis team has been selected to the NCAA Tournament for the 24th time in school history, it was announced Monday.
Florida State will be traveling to Athens, Georgia, to face Illinois. Florida A&M and host Georgia are the two other teams in the Athens regional.
The Seminoles have received a bid to six straight NCAA Tournaments, and 15 under head coach Jenifer Hyde. Hyde has led FSU to 16 of the program’s 18 victories in the NCAA Tournament.
Florida State has found recent success in the NCAA Tournament, making two quarterfinal appearances in the past four seasons.
The Seminoles’ 16 wins this season include six ranked wins and three victories over top-25 opponents.
