Nevada earned the first point by winning two of the three doubles matches. Senior Max McKennon and junior Nicola Cigna started the doubles match hot with a commanding 6-2 victory on court three. However, despite spirited efforts, the duos of junior Murphy Cassone and freshman Martin Vergara Del Puerto, as well as sophomore Roi Ginat and senior Jacob Bullard on courts one and two respectively. Both partners narrowly fell short by a score of 6-4 in their doubles matches.
The Sun Devils trailed the Wolf Pack at the start of singles play, but freshman Daniel Phillips quickly equalized the match with his 6-0, 6-1 victory on court six. McKennon pulled the Sun Devils ahead on court two, winning 6-1, 6-2. Cassone’s 6-3, 6-2 triumph on court one put ASU within one match from securing the win. Ginat clinched the match for the Sun Devils on court five. The Israel native won a competitive first set and pulled away in the second, winning 7-5, 6-2. Junior Nicola Cigna tallied the Sun Devils fifth and final point after his 6-3, 6-4 victory on court four.
