GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 20 Florida Gators are back home for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday for both a 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. match against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
This will be the second and third meeting all-time between Florida (10-8, 5-3 SEC) and Eastern Kentucky (4-14, 1-5 ASUN), as the Gators beat the Colonels, 8-1, to conclude the 1967 regular season on April 10 in Gainesville.
NON-CON RESUME
The Gators hold a 5-5 against non-conference opponents this regular season and seven of the 10 came against top-20 ranked-teams. When facing unranked opponents, Florida is 3-0.
STAYING WITH THE ASUN
Florida added fellow member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, North Florida, to the regular season schedule with a match next week on Tuesday, April 11 at 5 p.m.
TOP-10 SEC WEEKEND
Two top-10 SEC-foes, No. 9 Tennessee and No. 7 Georgia, come down to Gainesville this weekend beginning with the Volunteers on Friday, April 7 at 5 p.m. followed by No. 7 Georgia on Sunday, April 9 at noon.

In the Atlantic Sun Conference, Eastern Kentucky is tied for ninth with one conference win after beating Austin Peay, 6-1, on March 26. The Colonels previously played their lone ranked-opponent on March 18, losing to conference-foe No. 66 Liberty, 6-1. Additionally, this will be the second match against a Power-5 opponent after EKU lost to Louisville, 5-0 on Jan. 22.
Head Coach Adam Cohen is in his first year at the helm for EKU and Mortiz Mayer leads the team with a 9-8 overall record, while going 7-5 from the top singles position. Mayer’s toughest test this season came against then-No. 25 Natan Rodrigues of Louisville, falling 6-3, 6-1 on court one.
