WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following a nine-day hiatus, the 19th-ranked Wake Forest men’s tennis team will return to action Tuesday, facing No. 28 VCU and Belmont-Abbey inside the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.
The Deacs’ matches against 28th-ranked VCU and Belmont-Abbey are slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
Wake Forest is seeking its third top-30 win of the season when it takes on the Rams Tuesday. Additionally, the Demon Deacons are looking to improve to a stellar 16-0 against in-state opponents over the past two seasons when it faces Belmont-Abbey.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest fell to then 17th-ranked Stanford, 4-0, on Feb. 19 inside the XS Tennis Village in Chicago, Ill., to conclude play at the 2023 ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championship.
Despite playing their sixth match in the last 10 days, the Demon Deacons forced several third sets in singles but were unable to register a match victory against the Cardinal. Stanford jumped out to an early 1-0 lead behind victories in first and second doubles, before securing wins in first, third and sixth singles to clinch the victory.
Of note, four of Wake Forest’s last six opponents have been ranked within the top-20 nationally, including three top-10 foes.
The Matchup – No. 28 VCU
VCU enters Tuesday’s match with an 11-1 record, including back-to-back victories over USF and Virginia Tech. The Rams’ only loss this season came to NC State during ITA Kickoff Weekend.
