TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Clemson men’s tennis team (10-10, 1-7 ACC) fell to No. 17 Florida State (14-5, 6-2 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center, 4-0.
Ryuhei Azuma and Spencer Whitaker began the day on the right note on Court 1 in doubles, maintaining momentum until the match was abandoned at 5-3 when Florida State secured victories on Courts 2 and 3, both by a score of 6-2.
The Seminoles earned a win on Court 5 in singles play early, as Nini Dica retired his match at 6-0, 2-0. Florida State’s No. 6 Cornut-Chauvinc registered a 6-4, 6-2 win on Court 1 before Dous-Karpenschif clinched the match, winning 6-4, 6-4 on Court 3.
Up next, the Tigers will host Notre Dame on Friday, April 7 at 5 p.m. before playing Louisville on Sunday, April 9 at noon at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
