No. 11 USC Men’s Tennis Looks To Bash the Bruins For the Third Time This Season

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 11 USC men’s tennis team looks to pick up their third win of the season over crosstown rival UCLA as the Trojans will host the Bruins on Wednesday, April 19 at 5 p.m. Those in attendance will receive free USC men’s tennis t-shirts and the first 250 fans will receive complimentary Chik-Fil-A.
 
USC (14-7) has been battled tested throughout the spring, defeating heavyweights such as No. 15 Florida, No. 13 Georgia, No. 12 North Carolina and No. 24 Stanford, while also defeating crosstown rival UCLA twice.

TROJANS IN THE ITA RANKINGS: 
In the ITA’s latest team rankings, USC fell one spot to No. 11.

USC boasts four Trojans in the national singles rankings with senior Stefan Dostanic leading Troy at No. 31. Trojan sophomore Peter Makk locked in the No. 44 ranking while Wojtek Marek claimed the No. 102 ranking and Bradley Frye rounded out the field at No. 120. 

 

USC also boasts the No. 10 ranked doubles pair in Stefan Dostanic and Bradley Frye

NOTABLE:

  • USC’s Peter Makk  (five matches) and Wojtek Marek (four matches) have combed to clinch nine total matches for the Trojans this season. 
  • Peter Makk leads Troy in singles wins so far this season with 22 (13 of those wins coming from dual match play). 
  • Senior Stefan Dostanic leads the Trojans in doubles wins with 17, playing with both Bradley Frye and Ryan Colby this season. 
  • The Trojans have a travel heavy slate this spring, with only nine total home matches scheduled, including two ITA Kickoff Weekend matches. 
  • USC welcomed two mid-season additions in UCLA transfer Karl Lee and freshman Learner Tien
  • So far this season, the Trojans have faced 11 top-25 ranked opponents, winning four of those matches (#24 Vanderbilt, #15 Florida, #13 Georgia, #12 UNC). 
  • USC is 8-2 this season when claiming the doubles point, and 4-5 when losing the doubles point. 
  • The Trojans have remained in the top-15 since the start of 2023.
