SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The University of Michigan men’s tennis defeated Alabama 5-2 at the Bobby Bayliss Hidden Duals on Friday (Sept. 23) at the Courtney Tennis Center on the campus of Notre Dame. The Wolverines dropped the doubles point but rebounded to win five of the six singles for the win.

No. 48-ranked Jacob Bickersteth earned a big win over No. 13-ranked Filip Planinsek, dropping him 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 singles. Ondrej Styler, ranked No. 17, took down Enzo Aguiard in three sets at No. 2, and No. 75 Gavin Young earned a three-set win at No. 4.

No. 42-ranked Andrew Fenty opened his season with a 6-1, 7-6 win at No. 3, while Patorn Hanchaikul won his match at No. 5, topping Zach Foster 6-3, 7-6.

The Wolverines will face Columbia on Saturday (Sept. 24) at 11 a.m. on day two of the Bobby Bayliss Hidden Duals at the Courtney Tennis Center.
