KNOXVILLE, TENN.—Members of the University of North Carolina men’s tennis team completed Day of action at the Knoxville Showdown on Saturday, playing singles and doubles matches against players from the University of Tennessee.
Chris Li and No. 43-ranked Ryan Seggerman picked up singles wins for Carolina, while the duo of Li and Karl Poling won its doubles match.
Seggerman came from behind to beat No. 115 Blaise Bicknell. After losing the first set 6-3, Seggerman took the second set 6-3 and outlasted Bicknell in a 7-5 third set victory. Meanwhile, Li beat Tennessee’s Tomas Rodriguez in three sets, 6-3, 6-7 (0) and 6-3.
In doubles, Li and Poling beat Bicknell and Boris Kozlov, 6-4.
