STANFORD, Calif. – The college tennis fall slate is just over two weeks away, as the Cardinal begins competition on Sept. 21 at the ITA All-American Championships.
The ITA event, held in Tulsa, Oklahoma and running through Sept. 28, is the first of eight tournaments for the Cardinal this fall. The top 10 singles players and four doubles teams at the tournament will earn bids to the NCAA Individual Championships. Stanford will then send student-athletes to the Tiburon Challenger (Sept. 28-Oct. 3), the UCSB Fall Classic (Oct. 4-6) and the Kunal Patel San Francisco Open (Oct. 9-13).
The ITA Regional Championships are set for Oct. 17-22 in Seattle, with the top two finishers in each region qualifying for the NCAA Individual Championship, as well as the doubles champions. After a weekend in Las Vegas at the ITF 15K from Oct. 28-Nov. 3, Stanford will compete at ITA Sectionals in Malibu, California from Nov. 7-10, where 24 singles players and 12 doubles teams will earn berths to the NCAA Individual Championship.
Baylor hosts the NCAA Individual Championships from Nov. 19-24. The Cardinal boasts 14 NCAA singles champions in program history and 14 doubles champions.
The Cardinal enters the fall with four ranked singles players in Samir Banerjee (No. 23), Henry von der Schulenburg (No. 32), Kyle Kang (No. 66) and Max Basing (No. 73). Additionally, Stanford has three ranked doubles pairs: Banerjee and Nico Godsick (No. 32), Basing and Alex Razeghi (No. 50) and Kang and Harsh Hemang Parikh (No. 76).
