Men's Tennis to Begin Fall Season Thursday


TUCSON, Ariz. – Men’s Tennis will begin fall play this weekend with the Wildcat Invite and Battle in the Bay tournaments.  

Arizona is sending Wildcat returners Jay Friend, Eric Padgham, Casper Christensen, and freshmen Oskar Jansson and Zoran Ludoski to Berkely, Calif. to represent red and blue at the Battle in the Bay. 

Last year, Wildcat alum Herman Hoeyeraal and senior Colton Smith were victorious at the tournament, taking home the men’s doubles competition title.

The tournament will kick off Thursday morning with doubles play at 9:00 a.m. MST and run through Sunday, Sept. 15. 

Back at LaNelle, Arizona will be hosting UNLV, UNM, NMSU, SDSU, Gonzaga, NAU and GCU for their annual Wildcat Invite Friday, Sept. 13, through Sunday Sept. 15.

Wildcats Alexander Rozin, Cole Stelse and Iñaki Cabrero-Bello will be competing alongside freshmen Santiago Padilla-Cote, Matthias Kask and Filip Gustaffson. Doubles play will begin at 8:30 a.m. MST on Friday morning. The events will be streamed on Playsight.
