SEASON IN REVIEW

Penn State ended its regular season going 14-11, posting a 2-7 conference record to clinch the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. The Nittany Lions dropped their first four conference matches, before taking then-ranked No. 4 Michigan to a 3-4 result after leading the majority of matche.

Following a Big Ten loss to No. 7-seeded Michigan State and No. 1-seeded Ohio State on the road, the Nittany Lions capped off their Big Ten regular season schedule with two straight home wins versus Indiana and Purdue.

The Nittany Lions boast four players with eleven or more singles wins, including junior Miko Eala who holds an 18-5 record, going 5-1 in Big Ten play. In doubles, Penn State earned a 37-25 overall record, including going 8-0 in doubles for the first time since the 2009-20 season. Eala and partner freshman Simeunovic went 11-5 in doubles matches during the spring season.

PREVIEWING THE HOOSIERS

Indiana enters the first round of the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 9 seed in the conference. In the midst of a 6-match losing streak, they finished the regular season with a 1-8 conference record. Coming off a Big Ten weekend, the Hoosiers fell to Penn State 4-3, before being swept by the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes in their last match of the season.

Last weekend, Penn State defeated the Hoosiers 4-3 at the Sarni Tennis Center. Despite losing the doubles point, singles win from Eala, Simeunovic, Loren Byers, and Charl Morgan earned the Nittany Lions their first conference match victory of the season.
