LAST TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions defeated all three of their opponents this past weekend. In a doubleheader on Friday, they cruised past the Colgate Raiders 7-0, and then took down the Cleveland State Vikings, 6-1.
On Sunday, Penn State earned a 4-1 win over Dartmouth. Despite losing the doubles point, the Nittany Lions secured wins on courts one, two, three, and four to lock in their third win of the season. Malik Bhatnagar clinched the dual match in a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 contest.
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
The Flames head into this weekend with a 2-3 record. They are coming off a 4-3 victory over Elon, after dropping both of their matches at the ITA Kickoff Weekend versus Duke and LSU, respectively.
This matchup marks just the second time that Penn State will take on Liberty in spring competition. In their last meeting, Penn State was defeated 5-2.
The Nittany Lions met the Flames at the Liberty Hidden Dual in November, where they won five of the eight singles matches and split doubles at a two apiece.
INSIDE THE TIGERS
Princeton enters Sunday’s contest after sweeping the Indiana Hoosiers, 7-0, in its last match. After getting off to a slow start and dropping their first two matches against N.C. State and then-No. 3 Florida, the Tigers earned their first win at the ITA Kickoff Weekend over UNC-Wilmington, 4-2.
The Tigers boast two ranked singles players in No. 68 Karl Poling and No. 113 Justin Barki.
Penn State and Princeton will face off for the 10th time in program history on Sunday. The Nittany Lions hold the 5-4 winning record, but the Tigers have taken the last two matchups.
