The ITF’s 24th-ranked Junior joins Florida’s youth movement under first year head coach Steinberg

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators men’s tennis secured another signee, adding Maryland native Adhithya Ganesan. Ganesan intends to enroll and compete in the Spring 2024 season for the Gators.

Ganesan is currently the ITF’s 24th-ranked juniors player and has participated in the US Open Junior Championships, as well as the Junior Championships at Wimbledon. He made his Grand Slam main draw debut at the 2023 US Open.

The signing adds to the large incoming class under new head coach Adam Steinberg. Steinberg’s team in his first spring season with Florida will now feature five freshmen, including Ganesan, January arrivals Kevin Edengren and Henry Jefferson, as well as Aidan Kim and Jeremy Jin, who posted stellar Fall campaigns in their first semester with the Gators.

Florida’s spring slate begins against the University of North Florida at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville on Jan. 19 at 11 a.m.
