Men’s Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team for 13th Consecutive Season – University of South Carolina Athletics

Columbia, S.C. – For the 13th consecutive season, South Carolina men’s tennis has been named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team. Four Gamecocks were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes, marking the sixth time in the last seven years that South Carolina has had four or more players earn the accolade.

Senior Connor Thomson joined an elite group of Gamecocks, becoming one of just seven players in program history to earn the Scholar-Athlete honor four times.

He is joined on the Scholar-Athlete list by James Story, Toby Samuel, and Jelani Sarr who each earned the honor for the second consecutive season.

To be named a Scholar-Athlete, players must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

The team’s 13th consecutive All-Academic team honor was achieved by the team having a GPA above a 3.2 for the current academic year.
