STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men’s tennis experienced a highly successful 2022-23 campaign on the court, reaching the Round of 16 for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
But on the court wasn’t the only place the Bulldogs excelled.
MSU boasted a 3.67 grade point average as a team and were tabbed as one of the ITA Division I Men’s All-Academic Teams on Monday. It is the 15th consecutive year the Bulldogs have earned the honor and the 22nd time the team has been selected since the 1999-2000 season.
Six members of State’s roster were also named ITA Scholar Athletes on Monday after maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Gregor Ramskogler and Petar Jovanovic each posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the year. Ramskogler did so while earning his master’s degree in sports administration. Seth Richey earned a 3.96 GPA in mathematics and Patrick Lazo posted a 3.83 GPA while pursuing his master’s in business administration.
Ewen Lumsden earned a 3.66 GPA while taking post-graduate classes and Nemanja Malesevic finished with a 3.59 GPA while majoring in Kinesiology/Sport Administration.
It was the fourth time Ramskogler has been named an ITA Scholar Athlete in his career. Richey has garnered three ITA Scholar Athlete accolades during his time in Starkville while Lazo and Malesevic earned the honor for the second time.
Lumsden, Malesevic and Ramskogler were also selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in May for their contributions in the classroom.
