TULSA, Okla. – The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team saw both its singles and doubles entrants fall in the opening round of the qualifying draw at the ITA All-American Championship on Monday.
Michael Ross and Siim Troost were defeated in a 10-point tiebreaker after splitting the first two sets after Joubert Klopper dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision in his first match of the tournament.
Singles
Ryuhei Azuma (Clemson) def. #59 Joubert Klopper (Vanderbilt), 6-4, 6-4
Doubles
Da Silva/Pelletier (Liberty) def. #38 Michael Ross/Siim Troost (Vanderbilt), 6-3, 3-6, 10-8
Klopper is scheduled to take on Zsombor Velcz of Baylor in a consolation match at LaFortune Park Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. CT.
