KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The ninth-ranked Tennessee men’s tennis team is set to face No. 27 Florida on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Barksdale Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT
Tennessee (14-3, 3-0 SEC) posted a strong 6-1 victory over 35th-ranked Auburn on Friday night. The Vols won the doubles point for the 16th time this season while securing wins on five singles courts. Angel Diaz made his season debut at the No. 4 spot, routing the Tigers’ Alejandro Moreno, 6-1, 6-3.
 
SCOUTING FLORIDA

The Gators (6-5, 2-1 SEC) are coming off a 6-1 loss to Kentucky on March 8, gaining their lone point from doubles action. Florida posted wins over Texas A&M, 4-0, and LSU, 4-1, in its opening conference matches of 2024.
 
Jeremy Jin, ranked 97th in singles, boasts a 13-3 record playing in the top three lineup spots and is 3-1 against ranked opponents in 2023-24. Adhithya Ganesan is undefeated (5-0) at the No. 3 singles spot for UF and holds an 8-1 record alongside Tanapatt Nirundorn at the No. 2 position in doubles.

YOUNES AND APPLE’S IMPACT
Younes Lalami and Filip Apltauer, who play primarily at the No. 3 doubles spot for UT, register an 8-3 record as a pair and are currently on a four-match winning streak through the Auburn match. Additionally, UT is 8-0 when the duo wins in doubles competition.
 
STRONG START TO CONFERENCE PLAY
The Vols are on a strong 3-0 streak to open SEC action, marking the program’s best start to conference play since 2021. That year, the Vols won their first four contests before dropping to South Carolina but ultimately notched an impressive 10-2 record to finish second in the SEC.
