TEMPE– On Tuesday, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its preseason singles, doubles, and newcomer rankings for the upcoming fall season. Sun Devil men’s tennis senior transfer Mathis Bondaz cracked the top 25 in the singles rankings, coming in at No. 21.

Bondaz, who will compete with ASU for the first time this fall after signing with the Sun Devils in May,  previously spent time with Virginia Commonwealth University and Texas A&M. He was the highest ITA and UTR ranked player in the transfer portal checking in at #57 and 13.31, respectively.

At VCU last season, Bondaz posted a team-leading 21-12 singles record, and saw a season-high ITA ranking of 41 during the season. Bondaz was 6-3 against nationally ranked opponents.

With a new look to the fall season, players will be on the road to the NCAA Individual Championships this fall as the tournament moves to November and the fall season.
