COLLEGE PARK, MD — The University of Maryland Women’s Tennis Team announced their 2024 fall schedule Wednesday. Members of the Terrapins roster will compete in eight events for the season.
The Terrapins will open their fall slate at the Bedford Cup in College Park. The tournament will begin on Friday, Sept. 13, and run until Sunday, Sept. 15. The Terrapins will be represented by Sophomores Aida Eissa and Katherine Hung at the competition. Both Eissa and Hung competed in the 2023 Bedford Cup for Maryland.
Hung is coming off her freshman season going 7-3 in singles and 4-5 in doubles play. Eissa’s freshman season saw her go 6-9 in singles play and 6-12 in doubles play. Eissa clinched the Terps win over #29 Wisconsin to close their 2024 spring regular season, coming back after losing the first set of the #6 singles match to seal Maryland’s first win over a top 30-ranked team since 2013.
Next the Terrapins will compete at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, NC, from Sept. 21 to Sept. 26.
The Terps will head to Morgantown, WV, to compete in the Martha Thorn Invitational from Oct. 4 to Oct. 6.
The ITA Regional Championships will be held in Charlotsville, VA, from Oct. 17 to Oct. 21.
The following week the W35 will be held in Norman, OK, from Oct. 26 to Oct. 30.
The Terrapins will compete in the TCU Invite from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3 in Dallas, TX.
The ITA Sectional will be held in Chapel Hill, NC, from Nov. 7 to Nov. 10.
The Terps will close their fall slate at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in Waco, TX, from Nov. 19 to Nov. 24.
