Lucas da Silva Concludes Fall Season at NCAA Individual Championships – University of South Carolina Athletics

WACO, TX. – South Carolina men’s tennis junior Lucas da Silva’s fall season came to close on Tuesday evening at the NCAA Individual Championship. The Gamecock competed in the round of 64 in singles at Baylor University, dropping his match after fighting for three sets.

The junior competed against NC State’s Luca Staeheli, who he faced two weeks ago at the ITA East Sectional Championship. The two battled the first set but Staeheli ultimately claimed the set win after going 7-6(3) in the tiebreaker. Lucas managed to rally back for the second set, dominantly defeating Staheli 6-3. The NC State senior responded with the same score for the final set to win the match and advance to the next round.
