CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – South Carolina men’s tennis wrapped up their time at the ITA East Sectional Championship on Sunday afternoon. One Gamecock competed in the final round of the main draw stage for singles while two competed in the finals of the consolation bracket for doubles.
Lucas da Silva advanced from singles semifinals due to a walkover and competed against Princeton’s Paul Inchauspe, who was seeded fourth for this tournament, in the final round of the main draw stage. The junior battled but ultimately dropped his match 3-6, 2-6, to become the ITA East Sectional runner-up in singles. This result marks da Silva’s highest finish in his collegiate career at an ITA Championship.
Casey Hoole and Connor Thomson fell 5-7, 3-6 to Clemson’s Maxwell Smith and Noa Vukadin in doubles action.

Smith/Vukadin (CLEM) def. Hoole/Thomson (SC) 7-5, 6-3
Lucas Da Silva will represent the Garnet & Black at the NCAA Individual Championship in Waco, Texas November 19-24.
