KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee women’s tennis team is set to host the 2023 ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Rocky Top this Thursday through Monday, Oct. 19-23, at Goodfriend Tennis Center and Tyson Park.
Representing the Big Orange will be Esther Adeshina, Lauren Anzalotta, Catherine Aulia, Sofia Cabezas, Eleonora Molinaro, Elza Tomase and Alana Wolfberg.
Each Lady Vol will compete in singles and doubles. For doubles pairs, the following are set to play together – Adeshina/Cabezas, Molinaro/Anzalotta and Wolfberg/Aulia.
Tennessee returns the back-to-back Ohio Valley Region singles champion in Tomase, who collected the singles crowns in 2021 and 2022.
The tournament features teams from around the Ohio Valley, including Appalachian State, Belmont, Butler, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, ETSU, Indiana, IUPUI, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisville, Memphis, Miami Ohio, MTSU, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Purdue, Tennessee State, Southern Indiana, Vanderbilt and Xavier.
2023 marks the Lady Vols’ fourth time hosting the ITA Ohio Valley Regional. The event was previously in Knoxville in 2010, 2014 and 2022.
