LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Daniel Labrador punched his ticket to the Round of 16 at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional at Louisville on Friday.
The Clemson transfer downed Siim Troost from Vanderbilt in the Round of 64 to start the day in dramatic fashion. Labrador battled back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(6). He later squared off with Riccardo Trione from Belmont later in the afternoon, cruising to a 6-4, 7-6(4) victory.
Labrador will face Pavel Motl from Middle Tennessee State on Saturday for a bid to the final eight.
In doubles, Labrador and partner Sebastian Welch fell in the second round to Thiago Pernas and Peter Kalocsai from East Tennessee State, 8-5.
