Krug Brothers Open Action at ITA All-American


TULSA, Okla. – Juniors Connor Krug and Jake Krug opened action for the Blue Devils in the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Saturday.

In his opening match, Connor Krug defeated Ohio State’s Reece Yakubov in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. The Lakewood Ranch, Fla., native then bested Jayden Templeman of Columbia in the second round, claiming a 6-2, 6-0 victory. He advances to meet the winner of Alan Sau Franco (Arkansas) versus Leighton Allen (Oklahoma State) in the round of 64 on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Jake Krug dropped a three-set thriller to Alessio Vasquez of Louisiana State in his opening match. After dropping the first set, 6-4, Jake Krug battled back to register a 6-3 victory in the second set, before ultimately falling in the third set, 6-4.
