SEATTLE – The Oregon women’s tennis team completed its first team event of the 2022-23 season on Sunday, wrapping up three days of play at the Husky Invite in Seattle.
The Ducks faced multiple teams in both singles and doubles over the weekend. Junior Misaki Kobayashi led the way for the Ducks with a 3-0 record in singles and a 5-1 overall record between singles and doubles.
How it Happened: Oregon went 2-1 in doubles against DePaul on Friday and 4-2 in singles against Washington State, while dropping three to Washington in doubles and one to Portland in singles. Jo-Yee Chan won at singles and doubles in her Oregon debut, while Kobayashi, Lillian Mould and Myah Petchey also collected singles wins.
Kobayashi collected her second singles win of the weekend on Saturday vs. Washington’s Erika Matsuda, and also teamed up with Ares Teixido Garcia for a doubles win over WSU.
Chan and Karin Young picked up wins in singles vs. UW on Sunday, while Kobayshi finished off her perfect weekend in singles with a dominant 6-0, 7-5 victory.
