Jovanovic Selected To SEC Community Service Team

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State’s Petar Jovanovic was selected to the Men’s Tennis SEC Community Service Team on Thursday.

Jovanovic attended a pair of morning drop-offs at The Partnership Middle School where he greeted students when they arrived at school in the morning and provided them with motivation and encouragement to start their day. He also rang a bell for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Additionally, the freshman from Podgorica, Montenegro wrote letters to residents of The Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living Home for Valentine’s Day. He also wrote to students at The Partnership Middle School and for National Athletic Trainer Month.

On the court, Jovanovic has been one of the league’s top newcomers having won SEC Freshman of the Week three times this season. He is tied for the team lead with 23 singles victories and has a 17-8 singles mark in dual matches.

The 6-foot-4 Jovanovic is currently one-half of the nation’s No. 82 doubles tandem alongside Ewen Lumsden and have posted a 7-3 record together this spring.
