Jackson Registers NCAA Singles Championship Bid


CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Duke women’s tennis senior Emma Jackson became the third Blue Devil to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship on Sunday as she collected a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Malak El Allami of Columbia in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Sectionals at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill.
 
Jackson, a product of La Grange Park, Ill., will make her first appearance at the NCAA Singles Championship, which will take place Nov. 18-24 in Waco, Texas.  Jackson now owns a career singles ledger of 74-44. 
 
Other singles players from Duke that will compete at NCAAs include Irina Balus and Eleana Yu.  The Blue Devil tandem of Balus and Ellie Coleman also earned a spot in the NCAA Doubles Championship.
