Ryder Jackson plays in the main draw singles final on Monday at 10 a.m.
STANFORD, Calif. – Cal men’s tennis junior Ryder Jackson won his Sunday singles semifinal to advance to Monday’s final at the ITA Northwest Super Regional Championships and to qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships in November.
Jackson defeated Pacific’s Ran Amar 6-1, 6-2, at Stanford’s Taube Family Tennis Center. A potential All-Cal final was scuttled in the other semifinal, as Golden Bear sophomore Carl Emil Overbeck fell to Stanford’s top-seeded Nishesh Basavareddy, 6-3, 6-1.
Overbeck and Jackson also played in the doubles semis, with the fourth-seeded pair falling to Sacramento State’s Mark Keki and Mate Voros, 6-2, 5-7, 14-12.
In Monday’s singles final, Jackson takes on Basavareddy at 10 a.m., as the ITA Northwest Super Regional Championships come to an end on the Farm.
